ESO’s Scribing Skill Gets a Major Overhaul – Free for All Players This Summer!

Big news for Elder Scrolls Online players! This summer, ZeniMax Online Studios is making the valuable Scribing skill a standard part of the base game. Previously requiring the Elsweyr Chapter, this crafting skill lets players create potent glyphs for enhancing gear and powerful scrolls, making combat significantly more versatile. With the upcoming update, every ESO player will have access to Scribing, offering more strategic options in how they tackle Tamriel’s challenges.

This change is just one part of the planned update to Scribing. ZeniMax aims to simplify glyph creation by removing the need for Intricate Runes. Players will now use common runes, conveniently obtained through resource nodes found throughout the game. Additionally, they’re combining the numerous runestones previously used in Jewelry Crafting (another helpful skill) into just two primary runestones for Scribing. Streamlining the whole experience will encourage even more players to dive into the art of inscription and experiment with different glyph combinations. So, get ready to level up your crafting game and discover exciting new tactical possibilities!
