Review of the game Dogma: Eternal Night

If you follow the mmo game industry, then you probably remember the drama of April 2014, when CCP (EVE Online, DUST 514) turned off the long-term development of the MMORPG World of Darkness, breaking the hearts of a large army of fans of the universe of the same name. At the same time, some of the employees were fired, the other was transferred to the main EVE online project. World of Darkness was based on the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. If you're not familiar with the tabletop, you're probably familiar with the universe thanks to two iconic PC RPGs - Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (2004) and Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption (2000).

So, after the cancellation of the project, a not too large, but extremely enthusiastic group of enthusiasts faced the question: what to do next? Obviously, no one wanted to "slow down" their dream, and it was decided to continue development on their own. Naturally, no one allowed to use the patented universe and CCP developments, so the guys had to start from scratch. This is how Project Dogmat was born - this is the (working) name of the new MMORPG, which is created under the influence of the gloomy gothic-punk universe of World of Darkness.

So what is the game about? It's a vampire MMORPG set in a world that's pretty damn similar to ours, except for one important detail: Vampires run the food chain, not humans. But the vampires in Project Dogmat are not some mindless monsters and nocturnal predators, but a large and diverse community that hides their presence among mortals by observing a set of rules - Dogmas. This game is not a grinder about killing millions of mobs, but an MMORPG about social interaction and politics. So far, development is at an early stage and is in dire need of funds and new staff. Probably, in the near future we will be able to see (and support) the project on one of the crowdfunding platforms (Kickstarter, Boomstarter or IndieGoGo).
