Review of the game EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark

It has been about twelve years since the world of Norrath appeared. Not all games have such a long lifespan. The EverQuest universe is so big that it has long since left the boundaries of a single planet. At the same time, the leading world where the players live is still Norrath, which has been repeatedly written about on the MMOTOP.ORG website.

Ever Quest History

In fact, the history of the world of EverQuest began with love. According to legend, the world of Norrath was discovered by one of the dragon mothers, Viishan. Therefore, it was her descendants, the Viishan Claws, that turned out to be its first inhabitants. They created the Council of Elders, which adopted two basic laws of life on the planet - not to enter into family contacts with dragons belonging to opposite elements and not to kill each other. At the same time, the first law was still violated, as the dragons of fire and ice fell in love and fled from the Council. Over time, Norrath was visited by other divine beings, leading to the creation of various new races such as dwarves, orcs, elves, giants, and many more. So the legendary universe took on its modern form.

Game development

Over the twelve years of its existence, the game has changed significantly. The studio managed to create 14 additions, which led to the appearance of 475 more game territories in the virtual world. In addition, a full-fledged addition to the game called EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark was created, which we will tell you more about.

Its distinctive features were the increase in the maximum level to sixty, as well as the introduction of a completely new race into the game in the form of humanoid reptiles called Iskar. In addition, a new continent has been added. In addition, EverQuest: Ruins of Kunark features three new dungeons, which are named Mount Viishan, Old Sebilis, Chardok and so on.

Supplement Benefits

One of the major benefits of the EverQuest: Ruins of Kunark add-on is a significant improvement in graphics. This can be clearly seen in the monster models. The greatest attention, of course, was given to the new Iskar race. In particular, they received two new features that other races did not have. This is the ability to quickly restore health and the ability to swim for a long time.

The game plot is designed in such a way that the Iskars were hated by all other races, although this did not reassure the admirers of other races. A somewhat distorted balance led to the fact that Iskarov ceased to be loved not only in the EverQuest: Ruins of Kunark project, but also in the gaming community as a whole.

After the release of this add-on, players who reached high levels got the opportunity to fight against such strong opponents as the dragon Tracanon, Lord Nagafen, and Lady Vox.

Also, some time after the release of EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark, the game got a rather interesting epic quest that provided players with powerful class weapons.

prospects

According to the creators, this add-on was only the first step towards expanding the vast universe of EverQuest, which they plan to do even more. Therefore, even despite the outdated graphics, the game will delight its fans with interesting additions for a long time to come.
