An important role in this process was played by the transition from swords to machine guns, moving away from traditional fantasy and post-apocalyptic wastelands. It was because of the success of Fallout 3 that the announcement of the Grimlands project went unnoticed.

Game features

What is so interesting about this dark horse of Polish origin, which Borderlands fans have not even noticed? The authors of the project describe their game as a "shooter MMORPG". In a simple way, this is called a network role-playing shooter. Interestingly, the battles in Grimlands are not the most basic component in the game. Here, at all stages, the motto “no war” is proclaimed to you. In particular, this refers to nuclear war. At the beginning of the project, you will not be told about nuclear bombs or radioactive fallout. The creators of the game decided that our civilization could die after a massive earthquake, after which acid rain would fall all over the planet. The consequence of this will be the loss of brains and hair among the inhabitants of the Earth. The result of this will be hordes of mutants that have flooded the entire planet. After a global catastrophe, only a small group of people remained in the wild west of America.

survival process

The process of survival in the Grimlands project looks very thorough and interesting. To stay alive and somehow exist, the authors came up with a system of crafts, thanks to which you can craft and improve all the items in the game. In addition, here you will be offered an assortment of the most diverse weapons of all kinds, as well as vehicles designed for 2-3 people. In the game, you will be able to rebuild abandoned cities, which can then be defended from mutant attacks and raider attacks. True, how exactly the process of creation will be built is not yet known. All that is known on the MMOTOP.ORG website is that you can use all the trash lying on the wasteland as resources.

clan system

There is no exact information about how the clan system will look like yet. However, it is already clear that the game will not do without it. This is due to the fact that in order to build settlements, you will need to assemble a team of like-minded people.

Skill system

At this stage, we can already say that the game will not have any traditional parameters and division into classes. The development of the hero will be carried out through an advanced system of skills. At the same time, the frequency of its use will mainly affect the level of the skill. Therefore, if you do not use this or that skill for a long time, then your skill will gradually decrease. That is, when using, for example, a shotgun, the previously learned skill of owning a machine gun will decrease substantially.

PvP Mode

According to the developers, the main feature of the Grimlands game will be the PvP mode. Here you will be able to use when shooting all the weapons that, in principle, can shoot. Of interest are indicators of noise and movement, with the help of which you can come up with your own unique tactics and remain almost invisible.

Unresolved issues

Despite the optimism, the creators of the project did not answer many questions asked by gamers. In particular, it is not clear how reflex battles will be combined with the creation of a cozy home in the post-nuclear desert. The look of the fights and weird animations also don't add much to the game, making players laugh at the funny cowboy moves of the future.

Conclusion

In general, at this stage, Grimlands is very reminiscent of the long-suffering project Earthrise, so the developers again face the same rake. However, the game can still develop and improve due to the hard work of developers who will try to improve the combat component and harmoniously combine it with peaceful activities. Moreover, the project will be distributed on a shareware model.
