Rebel Galaxy is a rather interesting large-scale RPG sandbox. It was developed by the same studio that produced Torchlight 2, which was written about more than once on the MMOTOP.ORG website. In the Rebel Galaxy project, you will be offered a diverse galaxy filled with aliens, cheerful pirates and cunning bartenders. Real blues plays here as a soundtrack. The creation of the game was mainly carried out by two specialists - Eric Shafer and Travis Bradley, who previously worked at Runic Games. Recall that these guys participated in the development of Diablo itself. Of course, when creating the Rebel Galaxy project, they were engaged exclusively in the software part, while the creation of textures, effects and graphic models was entrusted to the Indians.

Atmosphere of the game

When creating Rebel Galaxy, obviously the creators decided to take the famous Firefly series as a basis. Therefore, the atmosphere of the game does not smell like some kind of bright future. Spiritually, the Rebel Galaxy universe is very far from the epic saga of Elite Dangerous and the idealistic Star Citizen. Players are offered the outskirts of the universe, soaked in engine oil, ozone and alcohol of the future. An atmosphere of hostility reigns everywhere, and therefore, when two ships meet, a battle often begins using high-energy cannons. Therefore, whether you plan to become a pirate, merchant or mercenary, you will need to carefully study the entire mechanism of the combat systems of your spaceship.

Game world

In the game world, everything is generated using a procedural method. The types of weapons are also generated. In general, the whole development process is somewhat reminiscent of Diablo. Due to the gradation of items by rarity, gamers are forced to constantly strive to obtain new types of equipment in order to achieve the perfect result. In principle, Rebel Galaxy has many similarities with other projects. So, the game universe includes many factions that treat the player in completely different ways, which is very reminiscent of the Space Rangers.

Gameplay Features

Much has been borrowed from other games in the gameplay. For example, in Rebel Galaxy you will be offered control not of small space fighters, but of huge iron fortresses with a team of more than one hundred people. All this is very reminiscent of EVE Online. At the same time, the developers have contributed their original developments to the project, one of which is a unique firing system. All turrets have a certain tracking speed, as a result of which all fights look quite interesting, reminiscent of dancing around certain points in outer space. In addition, the player can independently control the operation of the guns, prioritizing them in the destruction of certain targets. This is very handy, as in multi-enemy battles the spaceship can hit fighters with light cannons, while leaving the heavy guns to hit larger targets like destroyers and cruisers. True, if you wish, you can switch everything to manual mode and engage in the destruction of enemy ships manually.
