Tail is a text-based MMORPG aimed at players with a lot of experience, as the project will surely cause misunderstanding among young gamers. Tail appeared to the world back in 1999, it seems to be quite a long time ago, but do not forget that the famous Ultima Online worked for three years at that time. It is not worth comparing projects, since Tail's contribution was extremely small, but the creators did not set out to make a breakthrough, but the necessary audience was. Whether the game is popular these days, we will leave this question to your discretion.

The plot develops in a classic fantasy world with typical inhabitants and magic. There are six species in total, each has strengths and weaknesses, except for humans, they are all equally divided. There is also a division of spells into healing, destruction, increasing the chance to dodge, adding armor. Of the armor and weapons, we note the most interesting, this is a whip, in the style of Indiana Jones and a sphere, which have the ability to increase all stats at the same time. If you want to improve the item, then you need to get hold of in-game resources in the form of money and luck crystals.

You can acquire the latter in the course of adventures, sometimes displayed in illustrations and artistic texts. Although Tail acts as an MMORPG, we note that the role-playing element in the project is almost at zero, so in order to increase the standard characteristics, it is necessary to gain experience. At each level, ten points are assigned to the hero, four of which are distributed by the computer based on which race you play, for example: for humans, +1 goes to strength, dexterity, wisdom and intelligence, while dwarves get +3 to strength . The gameplay is reduced to the capture and subsequent defense of territories. Once you have captured a territory, you have five hours to fortify it using summoned creatures, and resources are spent on the latter not only at once, but also regularly. After five hours, wait for the attackers and attack yourself.

If you forget that Tail is a text-based game, then everything looks decent. Of course, using the imagination is interesting, but wouldn't it be better to read a book then? After all, fantasy writers of good quality have always been enough and ten years ago, too, it seems that the first part of A Song of Ice and Fire has already been translated. From reading, subjectively of course, you will get more pleasure than from playing.
