Overview of the game Territory

Territory - MMORPG for playing in the browser, which is one of the first domestic browser-based multiplayer projects. It is worth noting that on the day of release in 2004, more than 50,000 people entered the game, which immediately brought popularity to the IT Territory studio and helped it get on its feet. At the moment, the Territory is officially closed, but this does not prevent us from talking about its features, even after so many years. So what was the game like?

The brainchild of IT Territory was a classic Fight Club-style browser-based text-based MMO where the player leveled up through auto-executed quests. After completing the training, becoming a full-fledged resident of Chimera City, you could do anything: fish, shop, fight in bars, brew potions and much more. And after joining one of the clans, the project generally began to dazzle with new colors.

The game had several factions that differed from each other in functions and spheres of influence: the General faction - the forces of law and order, the criminals - the Pope, the Oligarchs - the cult of money, the anarchists with the outcasts - the White Weasel, the religious forces - the Hermit and the Governor faction, representing the city authorities. It was possible to enter only in one of the parties, having completed a certain test.

Each grouping had its own methods of struggle and ideology. The battles were classical: turn-based strike and block. Among other things, the Territory had an interesting economic system: more than 40% of the goods on the market were produced exclusively by users. Some of them (users), by the way, collaborated with the administration of the game itself. Through joint efforts with the players, sextants, racketeers, the media and various "pyramids" that conduct illegal business were later introduced.

In general, at the end of its existence, the Territory ceased to resemble a classic text-based browser, eventually turning into a friendly community of like-minded people trying to save their favorite game and make it better. However, the project was decided to be closed due to lack of funding and due to high competition.
