Game Review V4

V4 is a colorful MMORPG from South Korean developers NAT Games and publisher Nexon for mobile and PC. The project offers a classic story about the struggle between good and evil, many elements of the genre, such as dungeons and world bosses, a combat system with targeting and automatic functions. The latter include autorun and autoboy, which can be turned off if desired. There are also four types of camera implemented in the game: from above, from a third person, centering the hero and observing from the height of his growth, and an action mode with shaking effects.

Graphic arts

The development of the project is being led by Park Yong-hyun, president of Net Games, who in the past led the production of popular online games such as Lineage 2 and Terra on the Unreal Engine. V4 is also being developed with the latest version of Unreal Engine 4, and Hyun promises to implement effects unique to Unreal Engine using Artisan technology in it. Among other things, the game uses photorealistic display technologies, which has only recently become fashionable for the traditional mobile environment.

Customization

The game features over 50 customizable elements for the characters, including tails, noses, body shapes, and so on. There are also basic presets for each character.

As for the classes, there are six of them: Blader, Knight, Gunslinger, Magician, Warlord, Axler. Each with unique effects and skills, including the Devil Chaser "awakening" mode, which is activated at will and increases the hero's combat power at times. Also in this mode, all skills are replaced by new, more powerful counterparts.

Character classes

Warlord is a classic warrior with a two-handed hammer as a main weapon and combat gloves as a secondary weapon. They are not as armored as Knight and have less health. But they have a powerful main skill "running", which, after accumulating the maximum amount of a unique strip of "energy", allows you to make a strong attack.

Knight is a melee fighter with a one-handed sword and shield. Its feature is the “strengthen” skill, which increases attack and defense, also after filling a unique scale. But unlike the Blader, it refills based on damage taken, making the Knight the best tank in the game.

Magician is a magician in the classical sense. A class for dealing a lot of damage from afar using spells. Uses a cane and a crystal ball. A unique feature is the “Charge” ability, which is activated by filling a unique scale. It increases the amount of damage dealt and the character's movement speed.

Blader is a warrior with two swords and a unique "bond" trait. If the attack was successful, then instead of the ability on the quick slot, a “link”-tag may appear, which is “hung” on the enemy and allows you to add a certain amount of damage.

Gunslinger is a class that is effective at long range and uses pistols as a primary and secondary weapon. Excellent dodge and can use a unique "transition". This is an opportunity to combine skills into one set and use as many as 10 active skills instead of 5 basic ones. Also, on a successful hit, his “warm up” bar fills up and eventually allows the Gunslinger to make a powerful attack.

Axler is a hybrid class with close to medium range attack features. The main weapon is an ax that can be used for its intended purpose, or fire exploding cannonballs. Abilities: Airflow and Bind (similar to Blader), which consume a stored bar of energy to provide a short-term powerful buff. With it, the player deals explosive damage to the target.

Monsters and pets

There are different types of monsters in MMORPGs, from smaller than heroes to giant raid bosses. All of them are divided into types: beasts, spirits or demons. Damage against them can increase depending on the selected companion, which also provide additional effects. Pets in the game are represented by both cute little animals and fighters in full gear. In addition to combat missions, they can also perform operations to collect loot or ingredients.

Locations in V4

V4 has six unique regions to explore. These are Ravenna Island, Tranier Forest, Oden Plain, Delanore Forest, Yucca Desert and Dekkers Volcano.

The island is a quiet and peaceful area near the city of Brelan, in which all new players appear. It is sunny, with flower fields and white windmills. You can also see the coastline in the distance. Tranier Forest is the next location after Ravenna. There is a giant lake in the middle of the forest, but mostly users travel through various dark and foggy forests.

After the initial territories, players can get to the Oden Plains with large farms, still the same windmills in the countryside. There is the second major city - Harble. Three more locations: the Delanore light forest, the Yucca desert with ancient temples, and the Deckers volcano are perfect for high-level players.

PvP and PvE

A unique feature of V4 is the central hub, or "between servers", where players from up to five different servers can congregate. All of them in the future can go to giant battles of alliances and other battles, having previously united.

In addition to PvP, the game features a full scale open world raid system. In other words, hunting for world bosses. Up to 300 players can participate in it, and damage is taken into account in the rating table of guilds. The first place Alliance will receive additional rewards. So the developers plan to organize competitions between clans.

To sum it up: payment model and V4 launch timeline

The developers plan to first become number 1 in their home market in Korea, and then release the game worldwide. V4 is distributed free of charge.
