How rankings and verification work

MMOTOP.ORG is an independent directory of MMO private servers, launches and game information. A listing describes an independently operated server. It does not imply approval by the game's publisher.

How to compare servers

The homepage community ranking sorts published listings by recorded votes. Upcoming launches are grouped by their supplied launch date. The opened-server section sorts dated listings by Health Score. Use the rankings, game directory and launch calendar to compare versions, rates and availability.

What goes into Health Score?

Health Score combines recorded uptime (40%), ownership, uptime and monetization signals (25%), community rating and vote volume (20%), listing completeness (10%) and current online status (5%). Uptime percentages describe the recorded check window. A score is a discovery signal, not a guarantee of server quality or safety.

What does verification mean?

Ownership, domain control and uptime are separate signals. Verification badges can become stale when their supporting checks age. A successful status check only shows that an endpoint responded at that time; it does not prove a claimed player count or every gameplay feature.

Where does the information come from?

Server names, versions, rates, launch dates, descriptions and monetization details are supplied by listing owners or discovered from public directories and then reviewed. Votes and reviews come from users. Availability comes from automated endpoint checks. Game hubs link to official websites where available. News candidates can be discovered through the Steam API and other configured sources; discovery places them in an editorial queue.

What is reviewed before publication?

Submitted server listings enter moderation. Moderators can approve, reject or request changes to a listing. Imported candidates are not automatically published. Publication of a listing does not independently confirm every owner claim. Check the server website and recent reviews before joining or paying.

Corrections and reporting

Sign in on a server listing to report incorrect details, suspicious activity or review abuse. Owners can submit corrections through their dashboard. See the owner guide for submission and verification instructions.
