Chris Metzen returns to Blizzard to work as creative advisor on World of Warcraft - World of Warcraft

Entirely unexpected news came from the walls of Blizzard. Game industry veteran Chris Metzen, who left the team in 2016, has returned to the company. Then he wanted to take a break from the development of computer games and founded his own studio Warchief Gaming, specializing in “tabletops.”

For the first time after returning, Chris Metzen will work at Blizzard as a creative adviser on World of Warcraft, but later his work will spread to other projects within this franchise.

Before leaving Blizzard, Chris Metzen had worked for the company for over 20 years. He has been involved in developing many franchises such as Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and Overwatch, has served as a writer, artist, and designer, and also managed to be a vice president.
