Details of major update 6.4 for MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV - Final Fantasy XIV

Square Enix hosted a live broadcast of Letter from the Producer Live 76 dedicated to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. Game Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Manager Toshio Murouchi shared the first information about the major update 6.4, as well as other details, including the minor patch 6.38. We present to your attention a squeeze from the stream.

Patch 6.38

• Release Tuesday, April 4th.
• Removed the weekly limit on Pandaemonium: Abyssos (Savage).
• PvP skill adjustments.
• The beginning of the 6th season of Crystalline Conflict.
• Replacement of equipment in the data center of North America.

Patch 6.4 The Dark Throne

• Release end of May 2023.
• New quests of the main scenario.
• Beginning of the next chapter of Tataru’s Grand Endeavor.
• Continuation of Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures.
• Hildibrand’s story will continue at 6.45, as will the next phase of the quest to upgrade Manderville’s weapons. Grenoldt and Mowen will be followed by quests to improve the tools in Crystarium’s Crystalline Mean.

• New dungeon: The Aetherfont. According to Yoshida, polar bears make him think about MMORPGs, possibly because of Ultima Online.
• The buildings depicted in Efirfont have a charlatan flavor.

• New challenge: The Voidcast Dais. An Extreme version will be added. In this test, you have to fight Golbez.
• The new Unreal challenge will replace the current one. Get ready to face Zurvan, who appeared in The Warring Triad post-Heavensward expansion scenario.
• Pandæmonium: Anabaseios will be the third and final level of the eight-player raid. The Savage version will be released one week after the release of patch 6.4.

• Second dungeon Variant & Criterion: Mount Rokkon. It will have three difficulty levels: Normal, Criterion and Criterion (Savage). To unlock this dungeon, you won’t need to complete Sil’dihn Subterrane.

• Duty Support will be expanded to include Stormblood Dungeons: Bardam’s Mettle, Doma Castle, Castrum Abania, and Ala Mhigo. This feature allows NPCs to accompany you through story dungeons instead of other players.
• Gosetsu, Hien, and the mage Aura join the Warrior of Light. Looks like they passed Bardam’s test…

• Adjustments will be applied to classes for PvE and PvP – more details will probably appear in the next letter.
• The 4th PvP series will begin, as well as the 7th season. Frontline will have a new user interface element that will display the match time and score.
• The rules for Fields of Glory (Shatter) will be adjusted.
• The Borderland Ruins (Secure) will be temporarily unavailable.
• The next Blue Mage update will come in patch 6.45. The level cap will increase from 70 to 80, new spells and exclusive BLU equipment will appear. New enemies will appear in Masked Carnivale.

• Ocean Fishing is getting an update that will allow you to venture into the waters outside of Kugane and the Ruby Sea.
• The island hideout will be updated with new ranks and visions. There will be a new gathering place in the wilderness, and new sites for building in the shelter.
• In the future, new rewards will appear in the island hideout: items, materials, craft items, cultures, animals, island crafts and buildings.
• The shelter will receive outdoor furniture support. Furnishings can be placed next to buildings, and a maximum of 90 slots can be unlocked by progressing on the Island Hideout.
• Please note that special furnishings such as punching dummies and gardens will not be supported on the island hideout. A demonstration of how to place them will appear in the next email.

• A new stone tier will be added: Allagan tomestones of comedy.
• The maximum number of equipment sets will increase to 100; they will be available to all characters at once, regardless of the completion of quests.
• Profession icons will now appear in the chat log and on player plates (icons in the chat log only appear in groups and alliances).

• The transaction fee for items sold on the market board can now be included in their total price displayed in the Total section.
• Goggles and wing fashion accessories will now display when fighting in the overworld.
• Items stored in various locations can now be selected when applying glamor in a room.
• Faerie glamors are now available for scientists, where you can choose between Eos, Selene, or Carbuncle.
• We’ll get more information about the game’s graphics update planned for the expansion at the North American Fan Festival in July.

Announcements

• In all regions, the first round of sale of official paraphernalia will begin. Be aware that large crowds can occur at the Las Vegas event, so it’s best to pre-order for merchandise. After the items are sold out, the developers cannot guarantee their re-stocking, some of them are exclusive to North America.
• Pre-orders for Fanfest merchandise run from Friday, March 31st at 12:00 AM ET until April 22 at 09:59 AM PT. Shipping is due to begin on July 14, ahead of the Fan Fest.
• Pre-orders in Europe begin on Friday, March 31st at 12:00 AM PDT and end on April 22nd at 00:59 AM PDT. Shipping is scheduled for July 28th or later.

• The Final Fantasy XIV 10th Anniversary Fireworks & Music collaboration with MIRAINO Hanabi will take place on August 26 at the Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashiosaka, Osaka, Japan. Details will appear on Lodestone at a later date.

• There is currently a free entry campaign; play for free up to 96 hours (since the first login) if you have an account with the service.
• LINE “Add me as a friend” campaign (Japan only).
• The 2023 Hatching-tide season is currently underway and will end on April 10th.
• Lodestone recently posted an announcement about an upcoming 24-hour maintenance for Patch 6.38, which will begin updating the server infrastructure in the North American data center.
