NCSOFT plans to release cross-platform MMORPG Lineage 2M in China

The South Korean portal MTN, with links to its internal sources, reports that NCSOFT plans to release MMORPG Lineage 2M in China before the end of 2024. At the moment, the developers are busy preparing the game for licensing and removing all controversial elements that may raise questions from regulatory authorities. For example, the race of elves and dark elves will be removed from the game, as well as spirits, ghosts, blood, and other unwanted elements.

Lineage 2M will be the next game after Blade & Soul 2 to be released in the Chinese market, but it won’t be the only one. There are chances that Lineage W and other NCSOFT projects will also reach one of the largest gaming markets.

Let us recall that the cross-platform MMORPG Lineage 2M was released in South Korea in November 2019 and aroused great interest among players and a lot of scandals related to the monetization system. But, despite all the scandals and boycotts, the project is still in the top 10 games in terms of weekly sales on Korean Google Play. The release in Europe, America, and the CIS in December 2021 did not attract much attention, but the project found its audience.
