The Japanese version of MMORPG HIT 2 will receive not only a new name, but also a number of changes

Nexon decided not to stop at changing the name of the cross-platform MMORPG HIT 2 and announced a number of changes to the Japanese version of the game. We previously reported that the game will be released in Japan under the title HIT: The World. Now the exact release date has become known – April 17, 2024.

As for the changes to the game, the developers came to them after a series of consultations with Japanese streamers, bloggers, and players in December 2023 and February 2024. Let’s look at the main points point by point:

  • All players must have full access to game content. Many similar MMORPGs are implemented in such a way that only high-level players with top equipment can gain access to new or final content (PvP bosses, sieges, raids). Not all Japanese players like this approach, since they need to play with friends in all available activities. A special note is made regarding PvP bosses and sieges. Therefore, the developers decided that the rewards for PvE and PvP “channels” would not be different, and world bosses would appear only on PvE channels. In addition, PvP content will be improved to make it interesting for players to continue playing and fighting among themselves.
  • Players will be able to influence the server rules through a voting system. Voting tickets can be earned by completing quests, so active players have a greater chance of influencing the game.
  • Changes have been made to the combat system and character strength in PvP. For example, changes affected the work of such characteristics as “accuracy” and “evasion”. Now high-level characters in any case received damage from characters below them in level and equipment progress, which was previously impossible. Now top players will not be able to destroy “mid-level” characters on an industrial scale.
  • More content for guilds from the start. In addition to the classic guild killings of bosses or monsters in the open world, the developers will add a siege immediately at the start of the game. Recently, in MMORPGs, sieges appear sometime after the start of the game. In some cases, this happens after months. However, Japanese players don’t want to wait months for this content, and therefore the developers decided to include siege within the first month of the game’s launch. A total of 10 guilds will be able to participate in the siege.
  • The monetization system will also be changed to reduce P2W elements.
  • The game will add a bonus to the experience gained for playing at a party. The feature that allows the character to continue destroying monsters without the player’s participation will receive an update.

More details about the changes can be found in the articles of the Japanese publication 4gamer.net: about the results of the February meeting with players And about the announcement of the release date of the Japanese version of the game.
