This is not an April Fool's joke - a survival simulator about fighting ducks DUCKSIDE has been announced

tinyBuild Riga studio presented a funny survival simulator about fighting ducks called DUCKSIDE. Apparently, this announcement is not an April Fool’s joke, even though it took place on April Fool’s Day since the game already has a page on Steam where you can submit a request for the upcoming playtest.

The developers themselves jokingly describe DUCKSIDE as a mixture of DayZ and Rust, in which you play as a duck. In this game, you have to go to the island for valuable resources and treasures, but other duck players and “featherless” (as people are called here) can prevent you from completing this task. You’ll be able to gather materials, craft weapons, and tools, and build shelters to protect your loot.

“Hunters kill more than 10 million ducks every year, and this statistic would be much lower if the ducks were trained for combat. Meet DUCKSIDE, a persistent world survival simulator similar to DayZ or Rust… but where you are a duck like everyone else,” said the developers.

DUCKSIDE is being developed for PC only. The release date has not yet been announced.
